“Clarence Badger” by Christopher Langley; “Lesley Selander” by Christopher Langley.

*These two essays describe the careers of two Lone Pine Directors. Clarence Badger made many very successful comedies with different famous female stars including Clara Bow, Bebe Daniel. Gloria Swanson and Betty Compson, yet he is little known today. He had a fishing lodge in Lone Pine, and retired there. Lesley Selander was an action journeyman director who worked multiple times in Lone Pine, mostly on western but also on other kinds of action films.
